KCI began life in Victoria, B.C. Canada in 1978, as Knapp Research and Systems Consulting.
The company provided research methodology, statistical and computing consulting services to commercial, industrial and government organizations.
In 1982 the company relocated to Vancouver, B.C. and in 1985 incorporated as Knapp Consulting Inc.
During the 1980s and 1990s KCI developed expertise in the Insurance, Regional Government, Printing, Gaming and Healthcare Technology fields.
KCI currently provides custom software development and system integration services, and consulting in research methodology, statistical analysis, technology, and standards.
